Welcome from our family to yours!

We’re a family of farmers, brewers, and food lovers who believes local can be more delicious.

Schaendorf Brewing Company is operated by the second generation of a local family dairy farm dedicated to providing customers with farm-to-table cuisine and handcrafted beer in a family friendly environment.

Built in the late 1800s, the site of our brewery has served many uses over the last century for the city of Allegan, including a car dealership, a meat market, and home to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It’s possible Allegan’s very first brewery was even in the same location!

We hope you come back often as we restore this unique historical piece of downtown Allegan to a place for the community to gather, sharing in good food and friendship.

The Brewery

We’re in the process of building an on-site beer production facility. Once complete, our seven-barrel system will regularly produce new releases and one of a kind barrel-aged beers.

Coming Soon

Above the brewery is Rebekah Hall which served the community for decades as a place to gather and celebrate.  Named “Rebekah” after the female arm of the Odd Fellows, we’re sticking with tradition and keeping the name in honor of all the women who bring us together.  We’re giving the girl a facelift and the space will be available for weddings, corporate events and special celebrations.

 Local Matters

Old pics 1.png

We source as much produce and other ingredients as possible from Michigan farmers to keep the menu simple, fresh and local including:

BEEF – Schaendorf Brewing Company sources all beef items from the Schaendorf Cattle Company which sustainably raises animals with no added hormones.

PORK – Pasture-raised in Allegan County and in early 2019 will provided by Schaendorf Cattle Company.

CHICKEN – Our chicken is sourced from Otto’s Chicken, a family farm in Middleville that raises hormone and antibiotic-free chicken.

MILK Fairlife is our milk of choice at the restaurant. That’s because none of this would be possible without our roots as dairy farmers. Today our milk is bottled in Coopersville and sold under the Fairlife brand.

CHEESE – All of our cheese is sourced from our friends at Fair Oaks Farms who produce and process their own cheese in Indiana and Weyauwega Star Dairy in Wisconsin.

WINE- We exclusively feature wines and products from Fenn Valley located minutes away in Fennville.

BEER – Our new brewery should be completed by the summer of 2019, until then we will be serving craft beer made by our brewer at Tapistry Brewing as well as other local favorites.
